The Apple file-sharing protocol is blocked at the interface between the university network and the Internet due to an acute security vulnerability. Outside users must use VPN to access such an Apple file share. Administrators of devices/servers with an AppleShare service are advised to update their systems or disable the service.

Starting 2019, KIM will no longer have access to the reference management software RefWorks. It will continue to offer Citavi and EndNote.

Das KIM bietet zum 01.09.2019 Ausbildungsstellen als Fachinformatiker/in und Fachangestellte/r für Medien- und Informationsdienste, Fachrichtung Bibliothek.

Die verschickten E-Mails warnen z.B. vor dem angeblichen Ablauf eines Bibliothekskontos und enthalten Links, über die möglicherweise auch Schadsoftware verteilt wird.
