The Carnap collection
The estate of Rudolf Carnap (1891-1970), the original of which is housed in our partner archive at the University of Pittsburgh, contains a range of materials written in the now obsolete shorthand “Stolze-Schrey”. You will find a sample and a transcript below.
The Feyerabend collection
The estate of Paul Feyerabend (1924-1994) includes a reference library composed of 2,651 titles. Many copies have been annotated by Feyerabend himself. Below, you will find an example of a particularly heavily annotated text, a double page from an edition of Plato’s Theaetetus edited by Olaf Gigon.
The Jonas collection
Copy of Hans Jonas’s doctoral thesis. The first part has been removed. The copy shows annotations by Martin Heidegger and others, including on the page shown below.
Annotation by Martin Heidegger:
“nicht bestimmbar in der Weise des Besprechens von etwas als - das u. das-, wobei diese „das“ irgend schon aus dem Dasein selbst bekannt sind. zu S. 120”
