New opening hours of the library and new KIM fee regulations
From 1.10.2024 new opening hours for the library will apply due to the general university austerity measures. Also reminder fees and other library fines will be increased.
New opening hours of the library:
- Book areas BG, BS, J and Info Center: Mon - Fri 8.00 am - 11.00 pm,
Sat / Sun 9.00 am - 9.00 pm - Book area N: Mon - Fri 8 am - 5:30 pm, Sat / Sun closed
The service areas are staffed as follows:
- Lending service: (cash payments, external library cards, picking up interlibrary loans, ... )
Mon - Fri 8.00 am - 6.00 pm, Sat 9.00 am - 2.00 pm - KIM Support: Mon - Fri 9.00 am - 6.00 pm, Sat 10.00 am - 2.00 pm
- Media library / service counter and rare book reading room: Mon - Fri 10.00 am - 4.00 pm, Sat closed - Please contact the lending service if required.

New KIM fee regulations:
On 31st July 2024, a new fee schedule for the Communication, Information and Media Center (KIM) was adopted by the University Senate.
These regulations are the legal basis for the following Library fees, which will apply from 1 October 2024:
Reminder fees:
1st reminder: €2.50
2nd reminder: a further €7.50
3rd reminder: a further €15
Overdue fees for short-term loans: €5 per day
Rent for library lockers: €20 per semester
Issue of a replacement card in the event of loss: €10
Processing fees for replacement copies: €25
